Student Testimony
Pictured above is Pastor Charles Abita from the Maranatha Chapel which is located in the Ugandan Refugee Camps. He attended our Bible study and evangelism trainings in Kenya over the past several weeks and shared this testimony.
“It’s absolutely true that wholeness comes out of brokenness, healing comes from admitting your desperate needs. If you want to experience life on a higher level, get down to the materials of God’s transforming power in The 3 Circles Evangelism tool presented by Ancient Promise International. This is the greatest evangelism tool I’ve ever received.”
Pray for Pastor Charles and the 33 other students who are now returning home to use these Bible study and evangelism tools in their communities and churches.
Update from the Field
Our time in Kenya was very profitable. We gathered 34 students (those who had already gone through our Just the Bible training in the past) to certify them to train others in how to do the Bible study process. We had leaders from Tanzania, Somalia, South Sudan, Kenya and Uganda all together. During these trainings, we utilized the Ancient Promise Training Center in Kiamwangi, a village a couple of hours outside of Nairobi. Someday this center will be a full Bible College.
We introduced Ancient Promise to Andy Watson from Louisiana, a new team member. What fun to see him interact with both the students and the local community. His heart for the Gospel and discipleship is truly infectious. He both loved others well and was and was well loved himself.
Amy Gorden, a member of our logistics team, came to Kenya for the first time. She was amazing as she fit into the flow of things and was so needed to do all of the background and logistic details that make a program work in a foreign land. My heart is full as I think of the hard work and devotion we see in the leaders from all of the nations.
We are now on to the next portion of the trip in Asia. I said good bye to Andy and Amy and had Jane Mahui (George Ndugu’s wife) join me to help with the teaching and travel on this final part. The travel is always tough but this time we couldn’t even get out of the airport. The plane was over an hour late departing which meant we missed the connecting flight. After rebooking, we finally made it and then had 6 hours of road travel before arriving to our destination. We got to rest yesterday and we start a four day Personal Bible Study training today.
Pray for us as we are now in a completely different culture and seek to make the training relevant to our students in this very different place. We have been joined by one of our board members (his name must remain anonymous due to his missionary location) who we haven’t seen in person for a very long time. It is so good to spend time with him and his family.
